Trip to Taiwan - Part 9

Sixteenth day: July 6th, 2010 (Sun Moon Lake - Puli)
Something surprising came right in the morning.
We were all running out of water, and when I said, we, I mean, all of us. The cold water didn't happen to come out, only the boiling hot water, but of course, we couldn't take a shower with that.
Some of us decided to wash up in the sink (????) and even washed their hair, while I had my own way to manage myself to look fresh and clean, and most importantly...not smelly.

After breakfast, we were soon taken to a forest trail where we walked down this wooden path that headed towards the bank of Sun Moon Lake, basically also to get the close look of the lake. We had this nice local guide explaining about the legend of the lake. You know what we found there at the bank of the lake? A partially drowned tomb. O___O

Well, not to make yourself crept out. After a short 'taking pictures' session, we managed to go back to the sidewalk of the road to be picked up by our bus. Next up, we went back to the hotel, but apparently, hotel wasn't our destination (after all we'd checked out). Near the hotel building was another interesting tourist spot, which was a loooong staircases down to the lake with dates of months written on each steps.
One staircase consists of 30, 31, or even 29 steps, which steps each represent a date, and each staircase represent the months. The staircase itself started out with the month December, so those who were born at the beginning of the year, say like January or February, you gotta climb down all the staircases to get to your birthdate.

My birthdate was coincidentally a day of difference with Sonya. I was born on October 23, and she was born on October 22...at the same year! Look how proud we looked at the photos to have almost similar birthdates. I didn't get to go to the bottom of the staircase, since it'd take hella energy to get back to the top.
From the staircases, we went to the famous Sun Moon Lake temple which had an iconic red dragon statue in front of it.

Even we stumbled upon a cosplay which offered the visitors to snap pictures with.

From the top of the temple, we got to see the amazing view of Sun Moon Lake.

We took off for lunch afterwards, which took place at an outdoor viewing spot overlooking the lake. After the short lunch, we still had plenty of time (I don't know what for). After a moment of boredom, someone came up with the idea to play simple games, which was Chabuchabuchachacha. It was actually an imitating game, so we formed a circle and one of us started a repeating movement, followed by the others.
First it was just us, girls from Group 4 who participated, but the circle got bigger as more and more people involved, including the fu dao yuans. It was such a memorable moment.

Later, we took off to a tourism center building where we watched a short movie about Sun Moon Lake. The fantastic landscape, sceneries, vibes, and the nice music the movie offered practically made us all asleep. Oops sorry. From the tourism center, we walked our way to the harbour where we stopped by at souvenir shop and 7Eleven to buy milk pudding ^^.
It was an exhausting day indeed. We moved on from place to place for like five times. The next destination we headed was a matchmaking temple. We tried our luck if our matches had come in our ways. Ironically though, my friends' fortune told them that their matches had come in their ways, some were close already. But mine and several others of my friends of mine were unlucky.

We took a long walk from there towards the parking lot which was located very faaar away. Thankfully, we would head straight to the hotel (aah, my favorite words of the day). Puli wasn't that far, but still the bus ride would be quite long and we took a nap on the bus.
After dinner, we had a quick rest before we were told to gather in front of the bar. We sort of waited outside the bar, played some games, while waiting for the doors of the bar to open. When it finally opened, it turned out the fu dao yuans had arranged some sort of a disco night.

And the rest...well, you can tell.
We had fun and danced till we dropped
. Some of us had given up and got to their rooms before the party was over though. Some others managed to escape the party and strolled in a nearby night market. Nadia, Felicia, Jane, and Monika returned wearing uniformed shirts that they bought there! :D And even until the party was over, me and all friends from Group 4 gathered in Felicia's room (her room became like a headquarter) to have a gossip night or girls thingyyy, random talks, even to discuss about Monika's surprise since tomorrow would be her birthday.
