First off, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Gosh I'm so bad at this. I realize I've been so bad at answering texts. I think my New Year resolution should be about being more tech responsive. I apologize for that. So sorry! Anyway, I really wish this month is November, or be made into a NaNoWrimo's month, because I've been actively writing the sequel to Translucent since the end of last year (*gasp* 2016 is last year?!).

On another news, and the main topic of this blog post, I just watched Passengers today. I thought it didn't live up to the bad reviews and turned out to be better than expected. It wasn't amazing but it's still quite impressive and stunning to watch.

Finding Comfort in a Stranger's Arm - Before We Go Review and Analysis [SPOILER]

A few months ago, I bumped into this indie movie named Before We Go starring Alice Eve and Chris Evans (even directed by him). I never thought I'd like it so much.
It follows a young woman, Brooke, who misses the last train back to Boston and ends up getting stuck in New York City at night. She crosses path with an aspiring musician, Nick agrees to help her return to Boston at all costs. Together they navigate their way through the city that never sleeps and build a chemistry along the way, where they discover about each other's stories and what brings them to the city before the sun rises.

Deconstructing a Visionary and a Man - Steve Jobs Review and Analysis [SPOILER]

I haven't done a movie review in a long time. When I do, it's because the movie is worth reviewing and has left a particular impression to me. The last review I did is on Philomena, an Oscar nominated movie starring Dame Judi Dench and Steve Coogan.

On the Halloween weekend, my friend and I chose to see Steve Jobs, a highly un-Halloween-ish movie amidst the release of more relevantly-themed movies like Crimson Peak and Goosebumps. The long anticipated movie directed by Danny Boyle with the script penned by Aaron Sorkin.

Forgiveness over Hatred - Philomena Review *SPOILER ALERT*

Just to take a break from writing about my winter break journey, I'm going to share my review of one of the movies I watched on the last week of the break. I got to see this movie on my own in a smaller scaled cinema, as I'm pretty sure the movie isn't considered a mainstream for people of my age (I'm convinced non of my friends are interested to see it).

If you guys aren't familiar with the movie Philomena, you should it look it up. As of now, the movie has been earning abundant accolades, particularly on Best Actress category for its leading lady, Judi Dench. Even this morning, it was announced that the movie garnered four Academy Award nominations. Anyway, it's based on a true story which was later adapted into a book by Martin Sixsmith, and later adapted into the big screen last year. The story followed an elderly woman named Philomena Lee. Having grown up without her parents, she spent her teenage years convent in Roscrea, Ireland, which literally means she was raised in a strong religious upbringing. At one point, she fell for a young man and later found herself pregnant.
