Miley Cyrus can't be tamed, while Super Junior will possibly do some...magic?
May 4th, I woke up to find that the latest yet the first Super Junior's 4th album's teaser picture was out, possibly revealing much about their concept used for the upcoming album. The speculations fly among fans, assuming this largest boyband in the world will come up with an edgier style, much edgier than the previous album Sorry Sorry, where they appeared with more manly style, wearing formal suits all the time.
The concept hasn't been officially revealed to the media, although Shindong, one of the members have tweeted some hints. Even some rumors say that the concept of the album will be revolving around magic or vampires.
Again, that's not confirmed yet. Maybe SM decided to release this teaser picture to let the fans speculating about the so-called concept.
Super Junior in their latest single Sorry Sorry Answer
Released as a bonus track to Super Show 2 Album
From what I've seen from the picture, the concept will be much more different than the previous albums Super Junior has released. Many fans assumed that it will be close to Don't Don, where they appeared as punk-rock teens with upbeat rock music, complete with dyed hair and piercings. However, post-Sorry Sorry, I believe they're trying to modify the Don't Don concept with more grown-up style, minus the hair-dyeing and piercings part, and instead adds some emo-ish hair and look.
Well, we can never guess, but the album will be out on May 13 (I've set the alarm for that) and although I know the album wouldn't be out right on that time in Indonesia, I'm still anticipating for the unrevealed single, album name, and the music video.
However, from Korean music industry to Western.
On the same day, May 4, I was informed by a friend of mine who's a big fan of Miley Cyrus about the release of her new single and music video called Can't be Tamed. Maybe I'm not a really big fan of hers, but I was also curious about her where-abouts and where she's heading in the future (including her music style. It's interesting to catch up, because a teen star who previously appeared clean-cut in her early days, may go edgy to let the people know that "Hey, I'm not that good kid anymore. I've changed!". Say like Britney Spears, Rihanna, Hilary Duff or the latest phenomenon herself, Miss Miley Cyrus).
Miley has found that "I'm not that good kid anymore" or specifically for her "I'm not Hannah Montana anymore" phase through her upcoming album. I managed to watch her music video and was quite surprised to see how much she's changed. It feels like not a year ago she just released the still-clean-cut-looking single Party in the USA. The "Can't be Tamed" video involves her dressing racily in hot pants, boots, and thick mascara to add the sensual appeal. Her gestures and dances are considered sexy as well. People will hardly recognize her as that cheerful, blonde superstar Hannah Montana.
Well, I think Miley's "Can't be Tamed" has killed her Hannah Montana image, eh?
I'll show you the video of Miley's "Can't be Tamed" so you can judge what I was saying.
So all in all, apparently I found some similarities in Super Junior and Miley Cyrus.
- First, they're both going to release their album in the future, not too long. Super Junior's 4th album will be released on May 13 and Miley Cyrus' album is anticipated to be released on summer. But Miley's single came out first before Super Junior's, much to the curiosity of ELFs (Suju's fans) although the boyband's album will be out sooner than Miley's.
- Second, they're trying to change their images through their new album, and apparently both Miley and Suju have similar concepts, which is edgy and dark. The third, I could hardly recognize Miley in her new video, due to her thick make-up and sensual gestures. Same things go to Super Junior, who also I can hardly recognize each members in the picture! I went like "Where's Sungmin? Is this him? No, I think it's Donghae." Something like that. So they both have the looks that make fans hardly recognize them and both want to look more grown-up than ever, agree?
- Third, on May 4th, Miley Cyrus' "Can't be Tamed" music video first premiered in E! News while Super Junior for the first time released its first teaser picture. Different artists release their teasers on the same day.
So let's hope the group will TEMPORARILY appear in 10 members.
Well, I guess that's all I can conclude. Yes, I'm currently practicing to write academic texts so if you find that this text sounds more formally than ever, well, that's it. :)
I know it still sucks, but well.... *rolls eyes*
